There are several initiatives being taken by Indian Government in development of Indian ports business. Government of India is looking to develop the inland waterways sector as an alternative method of transport for getting goods to the nation’s ports to attract private investment into the sector. The national maritime agenda 2010-2020 is an initiative of the ministry of shipping to outline the framework for the development of the port sector.
In this context, Maharashtra Maritime Board together with Elets Technomedia Pvt. Ltd. is pleased to announce first “India Ports Summit” to be held on 11 September, 2015 at Mumbai. This event will focus on the various aspects of port- led development and development of industries in and around port areas. The conference is supported by eGov, India’s premiere magazines on ICT in governance.
